Nodes

1 node produces 10 mana/turn if the amount of nodes is below 10%. After
this it gets a bit more complicated.
10% = 10 mana/node
11% = 9.9 mana/node
12% = 9.8 mana/node
13% = 9.7 mana/node
..
20% = 9.0 mana/node
30% = 8.0 mana/node
40% = 7.0 mana/node
50% = 6.0 mana/node
55% = 5.5 mana/node
The number of nodes represented by the decimal generates 1 mana less
each turn (see example 3).
Example:
1) 4000 land, 2000 nodes (50%). Each node generate 6.0 mana/turn, for a
total of 2000 x 6.0 = 12000 mana/turn.
2) 4000 land, 1800 nodes (45%). Each node would generate 6.5
mana/turn, for a total of 1800 x 6.5 = 11700 mana/turn.
3) 4000 land, 1799 nodes (44.975%). 44% (1760) generate 6.6 mana/turn
and 0.975% (39) generate 5.6 mana/turn, for a total of 1760 x 6.6 39 x
5.6 = 11834 mana/turn. That is 1 node less than in example 2, but the
total output is increased by 134 mana!
I will let the numbers speak for themselves, but as a general rule you get
more mana the closer you get to .99%.
Also remember that other effects might increase or decrease the amount
you generate each turn. That can be enchantments (hidden upkeep),
artifacts, favor of the gods or heroes.
As Ze pointed out - Keeping your nodes in excess of 55.99% of
your land makes their efficiency go down (amount of mana per node).
Hence your total income starts it's downward trend above that also. So
while having 60% of your land as nodes will give you a larger mana
maximum, having 55% on the same amount of land will give you more
mana per turn.
