Strategy ImageResearch LandGrabs

    This is a tip for people that are close to finished researching....
    Usually there are a lot of mages with 2000-3000 land in the lower ranks of B2, that have hardly any units, and are trying to research their spells - just like you...

    The difference is... you are finished researching...

    - save enough turns (150-200)
    Use a ranklist from someone else in the guild (ask around in irc) that is about 80% of your power (have also one at 85% and one at 90%)
    If noone is available - do an 'alpha' search in Arena, by adding strings of 2-3 alpha characters... this way you get up to 'random' 10 mages each time...

    - set a recruit (see below)

    - destroy guilds,
    - build some barracks and nodes in the recreated wilderness

    - recruit/summon 25000 troops (militia are fine, maybe have 1-2 casts of slightly better summon units, and add militia or archers recruited)

    Now you start reading the ranklist/Arenapages carefully: By comparing #acres, #forts and total power, you can see if the mage has very little troops...

    As a rule of thumb,
    a mage with 3000 land and 5 forts should have 3,100,000 power if the mage has more power, he also has troops (or a shitload of items, or

    other example: 2500 land, 6 forts - about 2,600,000 power without troops.

    So basically you start looking for mages that have slightly more power then their land*1000... Don't bother about a spell or item - save them for later times. Make a list of the good targets

    Rember you'll gonna climb fast in power, and targets drop out your 'attack-window' quite fast. Start to grab the list bottom up.

    For the same reason, keep as little forts and a small army... as possible. You might even want to destroy some of the forts you win from sieging the no unit-targets.

    - after grabbing a good amount of land (5-10 hits maybe, win you 1000 acres) all non-unit targets will be out of range.
    Now save your own ranklist.
    Use some turns to build the wilderness
    maybe charge some m.p. (you might want to cast some upkeep spells you are gonna use higher up in the ranks...)

    and summon some troops, to increase your own power with 125% Now your previously saved ranklist will be 80% of your new power If you still have turns.... do some more landgrabbing ;)

    last turns are to summon some more troops and get you set up to save a good amount of turns for the next day ;)
